Rating workout brands

The past few years I have been really into working out.  Whether it be weight training, yoga classes, or cardio, I look forward to my daily workouts.  Something that has kept me motivated is my gym outfits.  I have tried a variety of gym wear brands and here are my thoughts!

AYBL:

Okay, starting off with AYBL.  This is one of the first brands I tried when I got into the gym two years ago.  The quality is excellent and pricing is in the average range for gym wear.  Even though the brand is not my go-to anymore, I would definitely recommend their clothing.

Gymshark:

I would compare the quality and pricing of Gymshark to AYBL.  Would highly recommend if you are looking to invest in nice gym clothes that will last you.  I love their oversized t-shirts and wear them frequently!

New Balance:

The sneakers and socks I wear almost every workout are from New Balance (New Balance 9060s) .  I can't speak on their clothes but I am definitely getting my moneys worth with these sneakers!  NB is on the pricier range, but the quality of their shoes will last you for years if you take care of them.

SHEIN:

Towards the beginning of my workout journey, I experimented with Shein's workout brands (such as their Glowmode line).  Even though the prices are super low, I do not recommend Shein brands for workout gear.  They may last you 6 months max but after that the fabric literally falls apart and starts breaking down.  Also no one wants to have a wardrove malfunction in the gym!  Shein clothes are very prone to malfunction/ripping.

DYFNE:

I have a love-hate relationship with DYFNE.  The prices are pretty outrageous and they rarely have coupons/sales.  However, I wear my DYFNE shorts and leggings practically every workout!  They are great quality and very flattering.  If you are consistent in the gym and know you'll get use out of them, I'd say go for it.  But if you are new to working out, start smaller with some cheaper brands before you invest in DYFNE.

Lululemon:

Although so many people love their Lululemon gym wear, I cannot justify spending money on it.  The prices are outrageous and you can get the same quality at other brands like GymShark or AYBL for a fraction of the price.  Save your money.

Amazon:

Amazon workout clothes are a hit or miss.  Unfortunately, the only way to know what you're getting is to order it and try it on.  The beauty of Amazon is the prices are reasonable and returning is made easy. I have had to return many clothes from Amazon but if you find something that works, it is worth the hassle.

Need something to read?

Nothing beats the feeling of curling up in bed with your favorite book. With that being said, here are some of my top book recommendations.  Not to worry, I have included picks from every genre -- there is something for everyone! FANTASY Throne of Glass by Sarah Maas. Until recently, fantasy was a genre I had not read in YEARS (throwback to The Maze Runner, Divergent, Hunger Games, etc.).  However, I recently rediscovered the genre and Throne of Glass is my current read!  Throne of Glass is the first book in an eight book series and I am totally hooked.  I will say it is one of those books where you either love or hate it but if you are going to give fantasy a try this series is a wonderful starting point.  The language is easily digestible and incorporates a perfect mix between human and fantasy elements.  Also just a heads up this is a LENGTHY novel so buckle your seat belt, grab your favorite bev/snack, and hold on for the ride.  DRAMA/PSYC...

What to do when you have nothing to do.

πŸ’ I have been there.  Bored out of my mind because I have no real responsibilities at a particular point in time. Nothing I really had to be doing.  No school.  No job.  Just me alone with my thoughts.  Endless phone scrolling.  Watching others spend their time in productive ways while I spend it doing...nothing. These periods of inactivity can easily lead to comparison, feelings of extreme unproductivity and even depression.  So what can you do when there is seemingly nothing to do? I. Exercise.  πŸ’ƒ Exercise is amazing for the body and mind.  Better yet, there are so many forms of exercise to choose from.  In addition, exercise is a productive tiπŸ’πŸ’πŸ’¬me suck that can occupy about an hour of your day.  My two favorite forms are weightlifting and group yoga classes.  I weightlift about 3-4x per week and take one yoga class a week. I can not recommend incorporating exercise into your daily routine enough! II. Find a hobby....
